Physical Therapy Aide
The Physical Therapy Aide is a non-licensed worker who is trained under the direction of a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. The aide performs designated routine tasks related to enhancing the efficiency of clinical operations. The aide provides support that may include patient-related and non-patient related duties and functions only with the continuous on-site supervision of the PT/OT or PTA. Continuous on-site supervision requires the presence of the physical therapist or therapist assistant in the immediate area.
High School graduate or GED. Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
Completion of Physical Therapy Technician training program or completion of one semester or an accredited P.T. or P.T.A. program preferred. Experience in either acute care hospital or outpatient orthopedics.
