Inventory Control Specialist
Responsible for coordination of estimated materials as defined by Engineering and Production in the Baan/Syteline environment to the actual material usage.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Monitor all inventory transactions including in-house manufactured, material purchases and subcontracting.
2. Monitor materials as they are processed through the various manufacturing cells.
3. Monitor existing procedures and introduces new procedures to ensure materials are issued correctly to projects and orders, including engineered projects and stock orders.
4. Initiate and manage inventory cycle counts to verify inventory integrity.
5. Performs root-cause analysis on inventory variances.
6. Monitor material returns, interplant transfers, and other production related inventory transactions.
7. Meet as needed with the plant management to co-ordinate and modify schedules as necessary to meet the committed customer delivery dates.
8. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1. High School education required. Four-year degree from an accredited college or university degree is preferred.
2. 3 - 5 years of experience in a MRP based environment with direct plant scheduling responsibilities and MRP implementation.
3. Knowledge of production, material control and manufacturing processes,
4. Knowledge of material procurement procedures, and marketplace conditions is required.
5. Must have excellent written, oral communications, administrative, and data entry skills
6. Must have excellent people and problem-solving skills

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software. Manufacturing software desirable.
Physical Demands: The physical activity of this position involves standing and walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, and talking conveying detailed or important instructions to employees accurately, loudly or quickly. Hearing involves the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discrimination in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts. The position requires medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The visual acuity requirements include visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and operation of machines (including inspection at distances close to the eyes. The employee is subject to inside environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. There is sufficient noise to cause the employees to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. The employee may be subject to paint fumes, dust, and toxins that may affect the respiratory system.
