Gulliver Schools, a premier, Independent Co-Ed Day School grades PreK3 to 12th Grade, in Miami, Florida has an immediate opening for a Graphic Designer to work in their Marketing and Communications Department.
Job Duties
This position will work closely with the Marketing, Communications and Advancement team to strengthen the schools brand through print and digital materials. The Graphic Designer supports Gulliver’s overall communications efforts by assisting in the creation and design of publications, reports, e-newsletters, invitations, displays, banners, brochures, promotional materials, and e-marketing and outreach campaign materials, creating and editing digital photos, videos and audio content; designing invitations, posters, flyers, print advertisements and other marketing collateral materials, Develop and maintain a responsive and efficient process for managing internal graphic design requests and deadlines, Interpret ideas, translate into viable form and present to staff for review; make revisions and finalize projects, Coordinate production deadlines for text, photographs, and special features; transform data into final print-ready form. Make outgoing artwork reproducible; i.e. setup with curves, trim, bleed marks, color callout. Design display exhibits, presentations and marketing materials of various sizes for presentation at meetings and special events, Draft and/or assist in drafting a variety of written material; proof draft of creative projects developed by other staff or outside resources, coordinate, maintain and archive complete and organizes files of all publications and maintain files of logos, bulletins, past projects, designs, displays, and related items available for future projects, maintain charts and graphs related to documents, surveys and reports useful for routine publication, stay abreast of current trends and new online tools, technologies and templates, processes, software and updates in the graphic arts field.
Job Requirements
Candidates for consideration must have a bachelor’s degree in graphic or commercial design, technical illustrations or related to communications, marketing and/or advertising from an accredited college, minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in graphic design, design software and web programming, conventional and computerized graphic design, desktop publications, and similar graphic presentation work including photography.
Must have strong to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects, establish workload priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat Professional and Quark Xpress, as well as knowledge of web languages, including HTMI, CSS and Java Script are required. Hours 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
