Provide health care support on campus; treat acute/chronic illnesses; health screenings; collect lab samples; record keeping.
The LPN's will provide support for comprehensive primary health care to undergraduate college students including acute and chronic illnesses and preventative health screenings; keep accurate records of assessments, diagnoses, treatment and/or referrals to collaborating health care professionals; and support all care rendered in Student Health Services. The responsibilities of the position include providing clinical triage and set-up, participating in preventative screenings and health education to students; observing and monitoring patients, collecting samples for lab testing, including phlebotomy; calling in/faxing prescriptions and distributing prescribed medications; preparing and administering immunizations as ordered; providing support to APRNs working with campus partners assisting in providing emergency care; and maintaining proper certifications for practice.
Licensed and certified as an LPN with three years of nursing experience. The successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively as a team player; be able to handle multiple tasks in a professional and diplomatic manner, and must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle confidential information and knowledge of federal OSHA regulations and College policies and procedures are essential.
